Sandra's mum's larder

Created by Bill 9 months ago

When I first met Edna, it was after an invite to one of her legendary Sunday lunches. A fabulous, full-on beef and roast potatoes affair I seem to remember. I couldn't help but notice Edna kept disappearing into a a large store cupboard and emerging with all sort of goodies to add to the feast. Ah! The larder. She proudly showed me the contents and I thought "I won't go hungry in this house". For the next couple of visits Edna would say things like "help yourself Bill, there's some in the larder" whenever I mentioned I was peckish. But it wasn't long before things changed. Edna realised that Bill in the larder was not such a great idea. From that moment, whenever I wandered off into the kitchen I'd hear Edna ask husband Bernie "He's not in the larder again, is he?"

Our paths went separate ways, but whenever I spoke on the phone, Edna would ask "Do you still like food a lot?"

Bless you all and good luck Edna guarding that store cupboard in the sky.
